Do you make time for Leisure? Quite an old fashioned word in todays’ world but the poem by the same name for me captures the true essence of the word and maybe we have forgotten how to attain it.
W. H. DAVIES Leisure WHAT is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?—No time to stand beneath the boughs, And stare as long as sheep and cows Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass Streams full of stars, like skies at night And watch her feet, how they can dance Enrich that smile her eyes began We have no time to stand and stare. |
So next time you look in your diary and there is no time to just ‘stand and stare’ maybe its time to reflect on just how much time you set aside for yourself.
